Dublin/Ireland-based A Ritual Sea 's self-titled debut album delivers a beautiful wash of melancholic synth dreamwave, reverb-soaked vocals and layers of shimmering shoegaze guitars. The band stems from couple Florian Chombart and Donna McCabe's relationship, with ten tracks circling around the theme of fear...fear of losing something, the person you love, a sense of self, your self-control, your sense of security. ‘A Ritual Sea' features the previously released digital singles 'Desire Lines', 'Radiate', 'Because you hate to care about' and 7 more original songs by the gifted Irish act. The album is inspired by the visually arresting micro explorations of relationships by filmmakers such as Andrei Tarkovsky, Robert Altman and Ingmar Bergman.
