VISIONS IN CLOUDS were the first EVER band, to be released on the Manic Depression-Sublabel ‘Icy Cold' in December 2018. “Are you still watching?” is a long-playing song collection created by Visions in Clouds celebrating the reincarnation of synth-pop, wave and disco music. The duo's latest works are carefully written, focusing more on sound design, macro- and microstructure than ever before. This results in the most intriguing compositions Visions in Clouds have ever presented publicly. Through the eight songs on “Are you still watching?” Lyricist and Singer Pascal Zeder interacts with his own perception of optimism and ambition - sometimes in a storytelling fashion, sometimes in a more associative manner in form of sound poems. These tracks are representing a ten-month lasting conversation with highs and lows, light and shadow, questions and answers and a confrontation of our own desire for things to be better -therefore constantly mirroring our existence to one state we remember from the past as well as an imagined state that could be one opaque day in the future. Beat creator Simon Schurtenberger adds that special ‘dance' feeling into the tracks, creating a lightness in melancholy which make the songs stand out. “Are you still watching?” is restless, melodic and designed for a neon lighted dance floor after midnight. The sound is rooted in 80's and 90's synth and disco tracks but Visions in Clouds bring the genre to the year 2022. The duo has abandoned its bass - and guitar-driven songwriting approach in favor of a more synth-based creation process, developing the band's musical and creative repertoire. The tracks do not hide the background of a stunning six-year band history and yet manage to create a whole new image of what is Visions in Clouds.
