Halfsleeper : Midnight Blue - CD
Ref: 24802
HALFSLEEPER is a post-punk/darkwave act born in 2021 between the concrete forest of São Paulo, Brazil. Composed of HERMIT (Matheus Cornely) on vocals and guitar and MOON (Vinicius Biz) on bass and backing vocals, HALFSLEEPER emerged from an attempt to present subtle elements of different musical genres that are part of its members' eclectic background. The project draws influences from industrial music, shoegaze, darkwave, and synthpop, expressing these influences through the distinctive features of post-punk, such as the use of drum machines, pulsating bass, synthesizers, and guitars that overuse modulation effects. Three years after the release of the EP The Hook that Killed the Ocean (2022) and the singles "Remembrance Day" (2024), "There Goes a Shadow," and "Tortured Souls" (2025), the band is preparing to release their debut album, "Midnight Blue", featuring eight original tracks, with four additional bonus remixes of album tracks. "Midnight Blue" doesn't simply describe human relationships; the album dissects them, exposing their complex and often uncomfortable, yet universal, inner workings. It's a sonic mountain range, oscillating between sluggish slowness and agitation, ranging from melancholy to frenzy, reflecting the turbulent nature of the bonds we formand which often imprison us. Isolation, guilt, love, eroticism, dependence, and self-destruction are the themes explored throughout the tracks. Tracks : 01 Midnight Blue 02 Remenbrance Day (feat.
