Hypnotic, dynamic and cold, such is the sound produced by Heimberg, a dark Post-Punk trio from Strasbourg/France, formed in 2022. They produce a sound both energetic and cold, with industrial acoustics. Minimalist, but at the same time melodious, the guitar is airy, and the vocals are plaintive and remote. The bass, supported by the synthesizer and the drum machine, set the scene for a raw and stern atmosphere. It creates a sound drowned in reverb and chorus effects. Since their 2 EPs, previously released digitally and on CD only (“Isolation” in late 2022 and “Blind Eye” in spring 2023), ‘Faceless' marks the real Debut Album for Heimberg and positions them as architects of disquiet. Their sound draws from the half-dream states of Lynch's most haunting work, music that doesn't soothe but unsettles, where monotony becomes mantra and mantra becomes mirror.
