Outshine – outshine – please outshine this darkness!" LACRIMOSA – this name stands for more than one band in the Gothic, Metal, Symphonic Metal, or the Dark Wave or Rock genres! LACRIMOSA is a genre of its own! After 35 years of existance, 14 studio- and 5 live-albums, many singles and EPs, and after countless extended concert tours all around the globe (only a handful of German-speaking bands perform in foreign countries with such consistency) – «Lament» represents their 15th studio album and the finale of a trilogy started in 2017! What began with «Testimonium», inspired by the deaths of many artists who had significantly influenced Tilo Wolff's career – artists such as David Bowie, Leonard Cohen and Prince – as well as the death of his own parents, gave rise to a cycle about love, death, desire and loss, and about hope in the light, the rising sun in the heart of every human being – impressively continued on the second part of the Trilogy, the album «Leidenschaft» (Passion) in 2021! Produced with great effort, «Lament» contains, among many other special features to discover, the orchestral, almost 10-minute lasting title track, as well as the third part of the integral ‘Storm-Trilogy' and summarizes this in an impressive way in the final «Memoria», which musically ends exactly where «Testimonium» once began. The continuity is also evident in the artwork of the new album, on whose front cover another grave statue bids farewells to the night and welcomes the morning, while the back cover shows the graves statues of the previous albums and their arrangement in the park that LACRIMOSA had impressively sung about in «Die Antwort ist Schweigen» on «Leidenschaft». «Lament» was first announced in november 2024 with the first furious single «Avalon» and its highly acclaimed videoclip.
