Vampyros Lesbos : Vi per Sanguinem - CD
Ref: 24704
Vampirism the term evokes memories of horror flicks and fantastical stories. But does vampirism exist in the midst of our modern society? "Yes, absolutely", says Elisabeth Brenner, "but real vampirism is completely different from what we see in the movies". The vampiristic music project "Vampyros Lesbos" consists of Elisabeth Brenner and Ostara M., two confident women who present their disturbing songs at a high vocal level to sinister, but captivating electronic sounds. There are similarities to bands such as "Siouxsie and the banshees" or "Grausame Töchter", except that everything here is absolutely electronic. However, their songs don't simply seek to describe vampirism. Ostara M. says: "We focus our attention on people with a special emotional level, who feel more than the average person, who are not foreign to spirituality, who feel themselves drawn towards occultism. Our songs are twirling spirals, they are deliberately anipulative and brain-cleansing". Elisabeth Brenner: "There's no reason to deny it: We wanna give our audience a taste of the victim role - to prepare them for it". And the eleven tracks do indeed have a compelling effect, especially if listened to multiple times. The most striking visual trademark of Ostara M. and Elisabeth Brenner are the black mourning nets that they wear at concerts. What do they mean? Ostara M.: "They are a symbol of empathy - towards you, perhaps." VAMPYROS LESBOS can be experienced live in 2025 as an enthralling support act for the band GRAUSAME TÖCHTER.
